SOLUDO ATTENDS BISHOP ANIKWENWA'S BURIAL, LAUDS HIM AS A DEFENDER OF THE FAITH.

​ All roads led to the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith on Thursday, 28th June, 2023 as hordes of the Anglican faithful and dignitaries from all works of life gathered to bid Bishop Anikwenwa farewell.   Present at the event was the Primate of all Nigeria,    His Grace, Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba, who charged the family to find solace in the Bishop's exemplary lifestyle. The Gospel of the day was taken from 2 Timothy 4:1-8. The Gospel message was rendered by Most Rev. Blessing Enyinda. Most Rev. David Onuora, the Archbishop of Owerri province led the intercessory prayers. SOLUDO FLAGS-OFF MATERNAL NEWBORN AND CHILD HEALTH WEEK.

​ In line with the administrations commitment to ensuring the Good Health and Wellbeing of all Anambarians. The Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukuwma Soludo flagged off the Maternal Newborn and Child health week on Tuesday, 27th June, 2023 at the Civic Center, Umueri in Aguleri.          We would recall that the representatives from UNICEF payed the Governor a courtesy visit, yesterday ahead of Flag-off Ceremony in Umueri. ​ Eulogies flowed today, Tuesday, 27th June, at the Day of Tributes in honour of the life and achievements of His Grace, the Most Reverend Dr. Maxwell S. C. Anikwenwa at Paul University, Awka. The event featured glorious interludes from the choir and moving speeches testifying to the Reverend's phenomenal life.   The Pro-Chancellor & Chairman, Governing Council, Paul University, Engr. Sir Chris Okoye lauded Bishop Anikwenwa as a "defender of the faith", a "visionary" and "an example of the inclusive and expansive vision of how the christian faith shapes humanity". His Grace, the Most Revd. UNICEF PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT AHEAD OF MNCHW WEEK, 2023.

​ In preparation for the official flag-off of the 2023 optimized MNCHW (Maternal, Newborn & Child Health Week) in Anambra, select officials from UNICEF visited the Deputy Governor, Anambra State. The team, led by Nemat Hajeebhoy, Chief on Nutrition, UNICEF outlined the events which will feature in this year's outreach such as: Providing folic acid supplements to nursing and pregnant mothers who are anaemic, Counselling affected parents on proper nutrition, Providing deworming commodities etc. Ms. Hajeebhoy explained that about 1.1 million children under 5 years of age in the state, 700 thousand are anaemic and 150 thousand have stunted growth. These figures alongside the absence of a biannual marking of the event, precipitated the visit today.  Speaking at the meeting, His Excellency, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim affirmed the need for thorough education on proper nutrition in rural areas. Mbaukwu Benefits, as Anambra State Sets Ambitious Targets in Palm, Coconut Production.

​ The Anambra State government is revitalizing industrial-scale palm and coconut production ( which were the commodities that put the old eastern region on the roadmap). Mr. Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo on Wednesday in Awka, flagged off the 2023 farming season, which he tagged 'regenerative agriculture' as the pathway to food sufficiency and repositioning of the state's economy. According Mr. Governor, his administration is championing the reenactment of the palm revolution which built the old eastern region, as a way of going back to where the later M..Okpara stopped. AWKA CAPITAL ELITE DEFEATS OKPOKO ALL STARS FC AT THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE ANAMBRA ALL STARS GAMES.

​ The Anambra State All Stars Games kicked off on Sunday 25th June, 2023 at the Awka Capital City Stadium. The Governor of Anambra state, Prof. Charles Soludo, who was ably represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim was there to flag off the opening Ceremony of the Competition. The Stadium which was filled to maximum capacity had football fans and dignitaries present, to watch the teams open the floor for the tournament. The All Stars Games is a competition between football teams from the 21 local governments in Anambra state with each team comprising of retired football players and athletes. The competition is scheduled to last for a month. The match outline is one that has Eight (8)groups comprising of three (3) teams each from Group A to Group H, where all teams would have to compete for the final trophy and be crowned the "Anambra All Stars Champion 2023." SOLUDO GOVERNMENT QUELLS DECADE-LONG CLASH BETWEEN OMOR AND ANAKU COMMUNITIES.

​ On Friday, 23rd June, 2023, representatives from the Omor and Anaku communities appeared before the State Boundary Committee for a hearing over the boundary dispute that has bedevilled the communities for decades. The hearing for the dispute began with opening remarks by the SA, Boundary, Ekene Okoye. He introduced all present: Dr Onyeka Ibezim, Deputy Governor & Chairman, State Boundary Committee Hon. MASSIVE TURNOUT AS SOLUDO CONCLUDES THE ANAMBRA SCHOOL SPORTS COMPETITION.

​ In line with the administration's commitment to facilitating Grass-root sports development, Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Saturday 24th June, 2023 concluded the ANAMBRA SCHOOL SPORTS COMPETITION at the Anambra Capital City Stadium in Awka.          The program which recorded a massive turnout is targeted at promoting sporting activities in the state. The festival is a brainchild of the Anambra State Sports Development Commission, the sports management agency of the government signed into law in 2008 by the Anambra State House of Assembly and Domiciled in the Office of the Executive Governor.             The Sports initiative has thus far recorded positive outcomes and results in the course of the festival owing to the collaboration and synergy with the State's Ministries of Education and Local Government Affairs.      The event started with the National Anthem, after which the Anambra state anthem was recited fol...
