SOLUDO PAYS TRIBUTE TO BISHOP MAXWELL S. C. ANIKWENWA.

​Eulogies flowed today, Tuesday, 27th June, at the Day of Tributes in honour of the life and achievements of His Grace, the Most Reverend Dr. Maxwell S. C. Anikwenwa at Paul University, Awka. The event featured glorious interludes from the choir and moving speeches testifying to the Reverend's phenomenal life. 


The Pro-Chancellor & Chairman, Governing Council, Paul University, Engr. Sir Chris Okoye lauded Bishop Anikwenwa as a "defender of the faith", a "visionary" and "an example of the inclusive and expansive vision of how the christian faith shapes humanity".



His Grace, the Most Revd. Alexander Ibezim, Archbishop, Province of the Niger & Bishop, Diocese of Awka in his eulogy on behalf of the Most Revd Henry Ndukuba, Primate of all Nigeria, outlined Bishop Anikwenwa's dedication to God's church, from his status as a church father, the establishment of Paul University and numerous other duties.




Professor C. C. Soludo, represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, was called upon to speak after the Archbishop's eulogy. Dr Ibezim remarked that the day is one of sober reflection. Anikwenwa, according to Dr Ibezim, lived a life that touched generations. He was a man with an overwhelming presence and worked tirelessly in St Faith church before it became a cathedral. Quoting Romans 14:8, Ibezim asked the family to not mourn like those without hope, but instead, emulate him and continue in his example. He also noted that the Late. ANIKWENWA stood for Ecomenism and we have a Governor who is taking ecomenism to greater heights.



Other dignitaries present at the event were Dr. Obidike, the Commissioner for Health, Chief Emmanuel Iwanyanwu, P.G Ohanaeze ndị Igbo, HRH Igwe Nnaemeka A. Achebe, Obi of Onitsha were among the distinguished guests invited to grace the occasion.

SOLUDO HONOURED AS CHAMPIONS NEWSPAPER GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR ON INFRASTRUCTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT.
