GOVERNOR SOLUDO MEETS NDI ONITSHA OVER THE PROPOSED REVITALIZATION OF THE STATE WATER BOARD, SAYS CLEAN, HEALTHY WATER FOR NDI ANAMBRA ARE PART OF SOLUTION AGENDA FOR THE STATE.

The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has reiterated his administration's commitment towards providing sustainable water scheme for Onitsha and environment to ensure a healthy living for the mega city.

The Governor declared this during his meeting with Ndi Onitsha over the "Proposed Revitalization Of The State Water Board", insisting that his Government is waging serious war against all forms of water borne disease in the state for a better health condition of Ndi Anambra.

Represented by Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Anambra Deputy Governor, Soludo said his government is making necessary efforts to ensure that Onitsha residents and environs have steady access to clean and safe water.

Recalled that the Governor Soludo through his Deputy, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim had toured the vicinity of Anambra State Water Board in Onitsha on December 8th, 2023 where he warded off "alleged encroachment" into the perimeter of the State government property.
For this reason, Dr. Ibezim explained that his principal, Prof. Soludo is expending resources to these facilities and in no distant time, will bring millions of Gallons of clean, drinkable water to Ndi Onitsha and environ, adding that this, among numerous other ways are designed by "Solution Government" to mitigate malaria, typhoid and other related illness in the state.

Onitsha representatives were led by their President General, represented by Sir. B.C Umerah, and Onitsha Youth leader Hon. Anthony Ogbo Ogazi, and accompanied by Counsel for Onitsha people Barr. Uchenna Obiora, vowed to partner with the state government in ensuring speedy realisation, assuring also, that on completion, Ndi Onitsha will take ownership of the project for the expected sustainability.

The state's Commissioner for Power and Water resources, Engr. Julius Chukwuemeka; Commissioner for lands, Prof Offonze Amaucheazi SAN; Commissioner for Youths, Mr. Patrick Aghamba; Special Adviser to Governor on political matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu; MD physical planning board, Mr Chike maduekwe; MD/CEO ASWRMA ,Hon. Ikeobi Ejiofor, AGM ANSPPB, Mr. Nwankwo Ajuluchukwu and the Onitsha North TC Chairman, Hon. Onochie Ozoma were all part of the State Government's team that interfaced with Onitsha representatives.
