It was a historic afternoon in Umuawulu Awka South Council Area of the state as the State government physically visits the disputed land where Umuawulu and Awgbu communities are having boundary misunderstanding.
The event held today Thursday 22nd February 2024 at Ngene Oku river behind Holy Cross High School Umuawulu in the presence of the elders of the concerned villages.
You will recall that at the invitation of the state's boundary commission, the three concerned villages(Umuenu and Enugwu Village of Umuawulu town and Agba-Ani Village of Awgbu Town) had attended a Boundry Commission Resolution meeting to settle permanently, the lingering decade-long Boundary issues.
Speaking after physical excercize, the Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr OnyekaChukwu Ibezim who is also the State Chairman Anambra State Boundary Commission, described the exercise as one of the strenuous processes the commission undertakes to bring lasting peace between communities having land disputes.
After meticulously studying the map of the area, Dr. Ibezim described what he saw on ground as being in line with what is on the map adding that despite the fact that a section of people that had agreed to participate in the physical exercise after participating in the session at his office at Government House did not attend event, the commission will still go ahead and take a decision.
He assured the people of the area that Governor Soludo wants to bring lasting people across all town union so that the renaissance and tempo of meaningful development already witnessed across the state, will be felt across all nooks and crannies of Anambra State.
