NSUGBE-UMUERI BOUNDARY CLASH: DR. IBEZIM CALLS FOR PEACE AND TOLERANCE, SAYS NOBODY HAS RIGHT TO TAKE ANOTHER PERSON'S LIFE .

 Both Community Must Give Government Enabling Environment To Work

   Anambra State Deputy Governor and Chairman State Boundary Committee, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim has urged Umueri and Nsugbe Communities both of Anambra East Council Area of the State to give peace a chance, warning those sponsoring the bloody restiveness recorded in those communities to retrace their steps and invest such resources into meaningful enterprises.

  Dr. Ibezim said this on Saturday December 2nd, 2023 during an Expanded Executive's town hall meeting organized for both Communities, tagged "Solution for Boundary Peace", also hinting that as a responsible government, Soludo administration will always do all it can to secure the lives of Ndi Anambra irrespective location and whose ox is gored.


Dr. Ibezim first met with Umueri Community at their Civic Center with His Royal Highness Igwe Sir Benneth Izuchukwu Emeka and Umueri President General as well as Nsugbe counterpart, Igwe Victor Ntoka, President General and other town Union executives all in attendance.

In his opening speeches, Dr. Ibezim remarked that most land disputes in Igbo land are dated back to several decades, most times without proper records and documentation which he further explained was why there will always be endless claims and counter-claims for ownerships.

After taking several explanations from Both Communities Leaders , he announced to them that time has come to birth lasting peace in Umueri and Nsugbe.

In getting this implemented, Dr. Ibezim directed both communities to nominate a 10-man delegates that will attend a meeting in Anambra State Government House, Awka in matter of days from Saturday 2nd December 2023, with focus on how to withdraw all pending court Cases.

He directed that committee members to be nominated will come to the meeting with any relevant documents and pictorials for articulations.

Concluding, he warned land spectators alongside those sponsoring the recorded bloody restiveness from outside the State radius to desist from the dastardly act and channel such resources into other meaningful enterprises begging for attention.

One minute silence which was observed for those who lost their lives and official hand over of pictures of those who were killed during the clash, group photographs were some of the high point of the meeting.
