Amudo Village in Awka and Okukwa and Egbeagu Village Villages in Amansea Community Want The State Government To Place Permanent Boundary Delineation

The people of Amudo Village in Awka and Okukwa and Egbeagu Village Villages in Amansea Community, on Tuesday December 5th, 2023 signed memorandum of understanding before the state government's boundary committee, a move aimed at preventing future boundary clashes or disputes among themselves.
The event held at the Deputy Governor's conference room inside the Anambra State Government House Awka, in the presence of Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, who also doubles as the Chairman, Anambra State Boundary Committee alongside other relevant state government boundary personalities, including Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Boundary Matters, Hon. Ekenechukwu Okoye.
After both Communities were introduced to Mr. Deputy by Hon. Ekene Okoye, their respective spokespersons were given the floor to make their seperate remarks.
In their seperate speeches, both communities affirmed that they know their boundaries as established by their ancestors, as a result, are not having any disputes or boundary misunderstanding among themselves.
They explained that they want the state government to come in to gazette and establish the boundaries to become a permanent boundary to avert future boundary disputes.
Responding, Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim commended both communities for being civil and tolerant, for pioneering the peace moves, assuring them that Soludo's administration will act accordingly.
He said,
"At the state boundary committee, we help communities to save lives and resources"
He also reminded them that,
"Governor Soludo is doing so much for the state and 177 communities in the state, and as a result, any communities fermenting troubles among themselves, will definitely miss out"
"No meaningful development will be birthed or sited in any community experiencing boundary disputes of any sort" and to those who sponsor restiveness Dr. Ibezim warned them to desist from such,
"tell those people that ferment restiveness to have a rethink and channel those resources into meaningful community development that benefit all instead of arming jobless"
To the Youths, Dr. Ibezim tasked them on positive productivity, by keying into various youth-friendly "Solution policies and programs like one Youth Two Skill, Code Anambra and Level Up Anambra State"
He however assured the representatives of both communities that a date will be fixed for the permanent delineation.
