Earlier on Saturday November 10th 2023, the  Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo attended  a church service marking the commencement of the legal year. 

The Mass was officiated by Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, the Catholic Bishop of Awka.

Speaking during the event, Governor Soludo represented by his Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim said, judiciary is not just the last hope of common man but hope of everyone, adding that judiciary as a law enforcement organ of the state, has its functions of interpreting and enforcing the laws, maintaining that Nigerian judiciary has its independence to be protected and its authority to be preserved.
He further reiterated Governor Charles Soludo's administration commitment to the judiciary in the state, noting that government's commitment to judicial officers' welfare was second to none.

Dr. Ibezim also assured that Governor Soludo's administration would continue to provide a conductive environment for all judicial officers in the state, in order for them to deliver their duties and responsibilities without fear or favour.

Vote of appreciation was given by the Chief Judge of Anambra State, His Lordship Hon. Justice Onochie M. Anyachebelu who commended Governor Charles Soludo for his policies to better the judiciary services and also seize the opportunity to commiserate with him over father's loss.
