DR IBEZIM TAKES HEALTHY LIVING CAMPAIGN TO THE NEXT LEVEL,URGES CITIZENS TO EXERCISE MORE.

   Morning exercise walks are a great way to start your day. Not only does it provide you with physical benefits such as improving your cardiovascular health and aiding in weight management, but it also helps to clear your mind and boost your mood. It is on this note that the Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr OnyekaChukwu Ibezim took a brisk walk from the Commissioners Quaters to the Alex Ekwueme Square in the morning of Saturday 11th November, 2023. 

   The Deputy Governor who is also a Youth himself took it upon himself to take the healthy living campaign to the streets of Awka. As he partook in the Weekend Exercise and Walk with other citizens in the state. 

  Arriving at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka which happened to be his stopping point. Dr. Ibezim was welcomed by fellow anambarians who also came out for their morning exercise. In an interaction with them, One of the Fitness enthusiast, Mr. Micheal said that to him exercise is a refreshing way to wake up and get your blood flowing, setting you up for a productive day ahead.

  Dr. Ibezim while speaking to individuals in Ekwueme Square said that Exercise and Eating Healthy are two major ways to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Eulogizing the First Lady of the State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo who also happens to be the Ambassador for Healthy Living in the State. Dr. Ibezim said that the Government is doing a lot of work to give its citizens the best.

  As the healthy living initiative is one that would not only foster unity amongst the people but would also help instills great values in individuals to be more conscious of their bodies, the food they eat and their environment. Dr. Ibezim opined " Exercise plays an essential role in maintaining overall physical and mental health. With the Average Life expectancy in Nigeria put below 52yrs, Regular physical activity can help prevent chronic diseases(such as Diabetes, heart disease and even cancer), It helps reduce anxiety and depression, improve sleep quality, and increase energy levels. Despite these benefits, many people fail to engage in regular exercise, which can lead to a decreased quality of life and increased health risks.

    He Further spoke on ways to help Overcome Exercise Barriers. "Many individuals claim that they cannot engage in regular exercise due to time constraints, lack of motivation, or financial limitations. However, there are several ways to overcome these barriers, such as:
- Integrating exercise into daily routines, such as walking or cycling to work or engaging in physical activity during brief breaks.
- Finding a workout buddy or joining an exercise class can provide the necessary motivation and support to stay active.
- Participating in free or low-cost exercise options, such as using online workout videos, going for a jog or bike ride, or participating in community fitness programs.

   On a Closing note, He added that technology has played a significant role in making exercise more accessible and convenient for individuals. With the rise of fitness apps, smartwatches, and other wearable technology, people can track their activity levels, set goals, and receive personalized workout plans. Additionally, virtual workouts and online classes have become increasingly popular, allowing individuals to exercise from the comfort of their own homes.
