ANAMBRA HOLDS COMMENDATION SESSION FOR LATE FORMER GOVERNOR MBADINUJU

A special commendation session was held Thursday in honor of the late Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju by members of the Anambra state government, past governors, community and church leaders, stakeholders, his family members, and others amidst commendation for the late former Anambra state governor (1999 - 2003).

At the emotion-laden session held at the International Convention Center, ICC, Governor Soludo, described the late Odera as a leader who gave the Anambra state his all, and laid the foundation for the new Anambra. He did his best in infrastructure development and history will be kind to him.

Born on June 14, 1945, he was elected on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and was sworn in as Anambra State Governor at the return of civil rule on May 29, 1999. As the first elected Governor of Anambra State upon the return of civil rule in 1999.

Late Odera will be tomorrow, Friday, November 24, 2023, laid to rest in his Uli hometown.

Key Dignitaries present at the Service include; The Deputy Governor of Anambra state, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Anambra State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon somtochukwu Udeze, Deputy Speaker Anambra House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Chief Judge of Anambra State, Hon. Justice Onochie Anyachelu, Members of Anambra State Executive Council, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, Catholic Bishop of Awka, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr  Aderemi Adeoye, Anambra State Immigration Head, Mr Edirin Okoto, among others, attended the event.

Both communities through their spokespersons during the meeting, affirmed that there is no rancor or misunderstanding of any sort between them, adding that they understand themselves and also inter-marry a lot.
