SOLUDO COMMISERATES WITH THE FAMILY OF LATE SENATOR ANNIE OKONKWO

 The Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukuwma Soludo on Wednesday, 30th August, 2023 attended the burial mass of late Senator Annie Okonkwo.

  Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo welcomed Nigerian President of the senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio who touched down the VIP lane of the Anambra State International Cargo Airport, Umueri at exactly 3:37pm Nigerian time.

Prof Soludo represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, also welcomed other members of the National Assembly including Senator Umeh who accompanied Senator Akpabio who arrived the state to commiserate with the Government of Anambra state and Okonkwo family of Ojoto over the demise of the Late Senator.

Senator Annie Okonkwo who died some months ago, was buried today in his home town Ojoto in Idemili North Council Area of Anambra state. The Funeral mass which was held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Ojoto had in attendance several dignitaries from within and outside the state. 

 The Governor of Anambra state, Prof Chukuwma Soludo in his speech expressed sadness at the loss of the former senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Chief Annie Okonkwo, popularly known as (Okaka Ojoto).

Governor Soludo noted that as a prominent son of Anambra State who hails from Ojoto in Idemili South Local Government Area of the State, the late Senator Okonkwo has paid his own dues trying to serve the State.

The Governor, on behalf of Anambra State Government and the entire people of the State, commiserates with the family and friends of the deceased over this painful loss.

The Governor further prayed that the good Lord grant his soul eternal rest and the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Other dignitaries present include: 
 H.E. Dr & Mrs. Alex Oti (Executive Governor of Abia state), Sen. Victor Umeh, Sen. Tony Nwoye, Sen. Ifeanyi Uba, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa ( National Chairman APGA) , Valentine Ozigbo among other distinguished senators of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

SOLUDO HONOURED AS CHAMPIONS NEWSPAPER GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR ON INFRASTRUCTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT.
