COMMISSIONER'S QUATERS TAKES A NEW LOOK AS SOLUDO CONCLUDES DESILTING AND DREDGING OF THE QUATERS DRAINAGES.

If you visit the commissioner's quarters just behind the Office of the Governor in Awka in recent time, you will agree that the Clean, Green and Liveable Anambra being preached by the Governor of Anambra State are not just mere, usual rhetorics but a verifiable, sustainable possiblity.

  This was achieved as a result of aggressive Desilting and Dredging excercize simulatenously, stubbornly carried out by the 'Solution government' in recent weeks in the area.


  Concluding the excercise at the Commissioner's Quarters, Governor Chukwuma Soludo represented by his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, insisted that a free flow of flood and waste water is crucial for a clean, green and sustainable Anambra to be achieved and sustained.

For this reason he said, the state government pursued the excercise by first of all insisting that all the drainage channels and water ways leading to and exiting from the area must be desilted and dredged off any forms of blockages so that any floor and waste waters generated from resident buildings in the area can easily find it's way out to the appropriate provided channel.


Dr. Ibezim while winding up the excercise, had a one-on-one interaction with the residents and locals within the area urging them to take over the steering in terms of sustaining proper waste disposal to avoid blocking once again, the desilted water-ways.

He further explained to the residents that it is only by taking ownership of the whole excercise that the "Soludo's Author-pilot waste disposal policy" will be achieved and sustained effectively.

 A highly elated resident of the area who gave his name as Mr. Emeka thanked Governor Solduo for this singular policy of desilting and dredging the water-ways in the vicinity.

According to the University Don, the air quality in the area has been purified by the excercise and mosquito attack greatly reduced to the bearest minimum as the murky and dirty waters in the drainages have all disappeared, all courtesy of the excercise.


Concluding, Mr. Emeka assured that the residents will take ownership of the whole exercise even as he urged his co-residents to abide by the directives as given to them by the Governor through the Deputy Governor as the Governor won't be at Quarters to always monitor the area.
