DR IBEZIM FURTHERS THE SOLUDO CLEAN GREEN ANAMBRA CAMPAIGN, TASKS BUSINESSES TO ENGAGE IN EFFECTIVE WASTE MANAGEMENT AND DISPOSAL.

Earlier today, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, accompanied by Dr Ernest Ezeajughi, the Chief of Staff, made a stop at strategic points in Awka to point out errors in waste management and make corrections. At the Eke Oyibo Market, & Adam & Eve Motors Park, Amawbia, Dr Ibezim expressed his dismay at the absence of a standard waste bin. While speaking to the executives at the market, he made this known and charged them to remedy the situation.


At Crunchies restaurant, he assessed the waste disposal facilities available. On speaking to Ms. Victoria Nchekwa, the Head of Customer Service, she  gave a detailed account of the challenges faced by the staff with regards to waste management and disposal. She shared that due to the absence of a standard bin, unscrupulous individuals living in the area vandalize and dump refuse generated in their homes in the structure provided by the restaurant. This has resulted in the pollution of the environment. Dr Ibezim assessed the makeshift structure and instructed that a standard bin be provided for all living on the street. 


At Nkwo Amaenyi, flanked by the popular Aiza Nwosu, the Councillor, Awka South, Hon. Oyeoka Emmanuel, Dr Ibezim toured the area and assessed open spaces for the installation of a standard waste bin. After identifying prime spots, Dr Ibezim beseeched the traders there to vacate the premises as soon as the Councillor finds alternative places for them to trade in inside the market.


Recall that Dr Ibezim's efforts to ensure proper waste disposal is an offshoot of the Clean Green Anambra campaign flagged off by Governor Chukwuma Soludo earlier this year.
