Soludo receives newly appointed commissioner of Police for Anambra State.

On Monday, 10th July, 2023, the newly-appointed Commissioner for Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye accompanied by the PPRO, DSP Ikéngà Tochukwu paid a familiarization visit to the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

Governor Soludo who was ably represented by the Deputy Governor,Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, welcomed the team and expressed his satisfaction at the visit. He commended the Commissioner for visiting and showing his readiness to commence work instantly. Leveraging on the Igbo saying that "it is the rat in the house that told the bushrat that there's fish to be eaten in the house", Dr Ibezim assured CP Aderemi Adeoye of the cooperation of all uniformed and non-uniformed law enforcement agencies. He also stressed the need for an interface between them and assured him that his stay in Anambra will be hitch-free.


Dr Ibezim also said that the Governor wishes to sustain the milestones he has achieved in security. At the moment, he explained, Anambrarians go about their businesses without fear. The Security, is a sector that keeps the the Governor up. Also, after identifying those responsible for the unrest in the state, the government organizes training programmes to equip the youths with marketable digital skills to keep them off the streets and away from crime. He also referenced the efforts of the government to rehabilitate the youths to become better citizens.Dr Ibezim also acknowledged the Commissioner's familiarity with the Anambra security scene having worked as the former DCP in charge of Operations, handled security during the inauguration of the present administration as well as during the recent House of Assembly elections in March, 2023. This, he believes, gives him a solid foundation with which to hit the ground running.


CP Aderemi Adeoye while addressing the members of the press present, expressed his pleasure at being with the people of Anambra. "This is a homecoming for me." he said and assured all present that he will devote all that he has to sustaining the security architecture in the state, proffer and implement solutions to issues affecting the safety.
