ANAMBRA STATE DEPUTY GOVERNOR CONDEMNS THE INDISCRIMINATE BURNING OF REFUSE ALONG OGIDI ROAD.

On Wednesday, 12th July,2023. The Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim made a stop along the popular ogidi market following the sight of burning of Refuse inside drainages.

In a bid to allay the Indiscriminate disposal and burning of Refuse inside drainages (Gutters). Dr. ibezim admonished Shop owners who carried out this shameless act. He not only charged them to desist from such act but to also desilt the entire drains in front of their shops. He further appealed to them to help the government create a more Liveable Anambra. This plea, in line the motivation for the Clean, Green and Sustainable Anambra an Initiative championed by the Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.

Dr. Ibezim while speaking to the traders also put a call across to the TC Chairman of the Local Government(Mr ChuksBrown Igboanua) and instructed him to ensure that the perpetuators are brought to book.

We hereby call on all Anambrarians to act as vanguards for the environment, avoid indiscriminate littering or burning of refuse and work together to sanitize the environment. That way, we'll increase our quality of life, the air we breathe as well as create legacies for our children to build on.
